Louisa Shafia

Louisa Shafia makes healthy, produce-driven food that’s inspired by the Silk Road and the farmer’s market. Her first cookbook, Lucid Food: Cooking for an Eco-Conscious Life, was a finalist for the IACP’s “Best Book of the Year” and her second book, The New Persian Kitchen, won Food52’s Piglet award for Best Cookbook 2014. A Philadelphia native, Louisa has cooked at notable restaurants in New York and San Francisco, including Aquavit, Pure Food and Wine, and Millennium. She has been featured on the Cooking Channel’s “Taste in Translation” series and runs the website www.lucidfood.com.
