Growing up in the vast culinary landscape of France, Dominique Crenn developed a keen interest in cuisine from a very young age. In 1997, Crenn made culinary history as the first female executive chef in Indonesia, leading the kitchen at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jakarta. In 2008, Crenn took over the kitchen at San Francisco’s Luce, where she earned her first Michelin star in 2009 and then again in 2010. In January 2011, she opened Atelier Crenn, which achieved its first Michelin star less than one year after opening. Atelier received its second Michelin star in December 2012. She competed in Season 2 of the Food Network’s “Next Iron Chef” and won “Iron Chef America,” defeating Michael Symon, in 2010. Crenn’s first cookbook will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2015.
